Easily entertain with these completely customizable and delicious Charcuterie Skewers.
Everything tastes better when served on a stick. Wouldn’t you agree? Put veggies on a stick and watch people eat it up! This spring, I plan on entertaining by feeding my guests with stick food, beginning with these Charcuterie Skewers! These skewers are SUPER easy to put together, have a variety of textures and flavor, and are completely customizable.
The Charcuterie Skewers begin with turkey-wrapped apple slices. I love the sweet and savory combination here. Next goes on a cube of cheddar cheese, followed by ham wrapped cornichons for a crisp crunch. For a little spice and to secure the skewers, I added a green olive and a cube of pepper jack cheese. That’s it! Repeat for as many skewers as you need. How simple was that!
For both the turkey-wrapped apple slices and ham-wrapped cornichons, I used Castle Wood Reserve® deli meats. Have you seen them at your local Walmart? You can find them near the Walmart deli section (NOT the packaged meats section). Each container comes with layers upon layers of quality and delicious meat that’s perfect for sandwiches, snacking, or charcuterie boards. I’ve even seen them used in soups!
Castle Wood Reserve® deli meats come in multiple varieties too. I purchased the Oven Roasted Turkey and Virginia Brand Smoked Uncured Ham and have barely scratched the surface. I still need to try their honey ham, oven roasted chicken breast, honey turkey, and Angus seasoned roast beef!
Serve these Charcuterie Skewers with some mixed nuts and extra ingredients on hand and you’re ready to enjoy more catching up time with your loved ones.
- 10 slices Castle Wood Reserve® Oven Roasted Turkey Breast, halved lengthwise
- 2 green apples, sliced into 10 slices
- 10 cheddar cheese cubes
- 10 slices Castle Wood Reserve® Virginia Brand Smoked Uncured Ham, folded into thirds, lengthwise
- 10 cornichons
- 10 green olives
- 10 pepper jack cheese cubes
- 10 wooden skewers
Tightly wrap each slice of turkey around each apple slice and thread onto a skewer. Add a cube of cheddar cheese. Tightly wrap each slice of ham around each cornichon and add it to the skewer. Finish off by adding an olive and cube of pepper jack cheese.
Serve immediately with mixed nuts.
